The father of Sheeran and Karin Sandel – Mordechai – has passed away, Shiran shared today (Tuesday) in a post she posted on her Instagram page, in which she wanted to thank all the comforters and people who came to Shiva.
Mordechai Sandel has been dealing with two types of cancer and has been anesthetized and respirated recently. Two weeks ago, unfortunately, he passed away and now, as mentioned, his daughter, the actress and children’s star, has revealed the news of his death.
“16/12/2020, 21:05. Cursed date,” she wrote in the post. “Forever it will be the time that killed him for me. My father is no longer alive. I read the text you read below at his funeral. This is who my father was. A father who fulfills dreams and a husband from the legends. Before you continue reading I want to say thank you from the bottom of my soul to everyone who prayed for him. “Who sent a message. You moved us very much. Unfortunately the terrible cancer overwhelmed him. And so did us. A challenging period before. Trying to mend the broken heart.”
Later in the post Sandal brings his obituary that opens with lines from the children’s song written by Thelma Alligon Rose: “My dad has a ladder. Reaches almost to the sky. My dad really had a ladder and he would let us go up and down as much as we want when he is always behind us to support and protect Everything we wanted, there he was. I wanted ground gymnastics, there he was, we wanted karate, he came to every practice and every competition. I wanted giant wheels, very present. I decided I wanted to be an actress, and when everyone said it would pass her he went with me with all his might. Three times a week I would call him and tell him Daddy has an audition he would answer but my songs are at work, but Daddy is a really important audition, well I come. And so every time again. On the way to Tel Aviv we had road signs that really made us laugh, God knows why , But it was only mine and his … “.
Sandal jumped in time and went on to tell about the time she accompanied her father for treatments: “Now that I started taking him for treatments we made new milestones for us. We found a metal statue that looks like an animal preparing for war and saw the eagle of the city Nesher That we pass through them. And on the way back home in the middle of the stone stairs we suddenly discovered after years that we live there that there is a corner that is like a rest bench. There we would stop and talk for 10 minutes. While he returns oxygen to the body and panting heavily, I dig how much he should fight and not give up. “I was silent because I saw that it was too much. How scared I was to get to this moment. And rightly so. This pain that I feel now inside is a physical and mental pain of an intensity I never thought possible to experience.”
“21:05 forever the hour that killed him for me,” Sandal concludes the book. “20 minutes after we arrived. They even took the parting from us. But someone told me something right. You did not want us to remember you groaning in pain and suffering in your last moments. You wanted us to see you calm and relaxed. You suffered. You had a hard time and fought with all your might for me. My father I want To tell you from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for who you are. For all the love and confidence and warmth you have decapitated. You never judged. You trusted us and backed us even when I had problems at school. You went with us any way we wanted even with we were not decisive. You just wanted us to be happy. “I will take you with me hand in hand later in the journey even with this from afar and it is impossible to see. But to feel I will always always always feel you. I am a father’s child.”
Sandel’s friends rushed to Nehama, including many famous friends such as Noa Kirl, Israel Katorza, Adi Himmelblau, Yarden Harel, Peter Plachik, Liron Revivo and many others. We join and send reinforcements from here to the Sandal family.
