Josh Allen threw four passes – three of them to Stefon Diggs – to get past Jim Kelly ‘s franchise record and see the Buffalo Bills to a 38-9 secure win over the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football.

With a win, the Bills were the first team to complete a quarterback sweep of the Patriots since 2000, the same year when New England (6-9) released a record they had lost until this season after their loss Monday night.

  • Passing Bills: Josh Allen, 27/36, 320 yards, 4 TDs
  • Rush Head: Zack Moss, 12 carries, 57 yards, 1 TD
  • Head gets: Stefon Diggs, nine catches, 145 yards, 3 TDs

Allen, who finished 27 of 36 passes for 320 yards, scored Diggs for the third time – this one an eight-yard score early in the fourth quarter – to overtake Kelly’s 33-run mark since 1991 and a new franchise record (34 ) is still set with one week of the regular season remaining.

Diggs had nine tackles for 145 yards – tying a high position – for the Bills (12-3), who are currently holding No. 2 seed in the AFC due to their impact on the Pittsburgh Steelers (12 -3) a fortnight ago.

  • Patriots passing: Cam Newton, 5/10, 34 yards
  • Rush head: Sony Michel, 10 carries, 69 yards
  • Head gets: Jakobi Meyers, four catches, 45 yards

Cam Newton recorded the 12th round of the season early in the second quarter to tie Steve Grogan (1976) for the Patriots ’one-season record among quarterbacks. But he suffered another night pass through the air, finishing 5 of 10 passes for just 34 yards before being dragged early in the third quarter in favor of Jarrett Stidham, who did little better (4 of 11 for 44 yards).

Nick Folk lost with his extra point effort after running around nine yards from Newton in the second quarter, meaning the Bulls maintained a narrow 10-9 lead at that point before Allen began his scoring frenzy.

Tight end Lee Smith had a four-yard home run later in the second, and a 50-yard effort was the first of his personal Dig-hat shortly before halftime.

Allen and Diggs did not, as the catcher separated a pair of defenders for an 18-yard TD early in the third quarter and then the pair connected again for Allen’s position score in the fourth.

Earlier, rookie Buffalo running back Zack Moss had run about five yards in the second quarter after both teams traded field goals in the first.
