Pushing us to get our Yoga mats out and get all the muscles working, Malaika Arora put down a new fitness challenge this coming Monday. Encouraging fans to “exercise every inch of your muscles and embrace new ambitions and goals”, Malaika was seen teaching netizens how to identify strength in a person’s body with Virabhadrasana or the Warrior Pose 2 of Yoga.
Accepting the exercise she moved along the pool, Malaika said in a caption, “It’s time to relax, slow down and celebrate yourself and your loved ones . Soak in the sun, relax by the pool, exercise every inch of your muscles and welcome new desires and goals (sic). “
She said, “Today’s posture is what marks your strength- Virabhadrasana also known as Warrior Pose 2. The posture stretches your hips, limbs and shoulders. It improves endurance and balance, increasing relief and blood circulation (sic). ”
Method:
Stand up with feet 4 to 5 feet apart. Place your right foot at a 90 degree angle with the toes pointing while keeping your left foot at a 45 degree angle. Bring your hands at shoulder level and keep them parallel to the ground.
Bend your right knee and look towards your right hand. Keep your hip square and right thigh parallel to the ground. Hold the positions for 10 to 15 seconds, then release the position.
Benefits:
Virabhadrasana or the Warrior Pose 2 will invigorate the tired limbs and open your chest and lungs as well as stretch your hips, limbs and shoulders and improve endurance and balance. It also stimulates your abdominal organs.
