Various British coronavirus found in Sweden – world news

The new strain of coronavirus linked to a rapid rise in diseases in Britain was discovered in Sweden after a UK traveler became ill and tested positive, the Swedish Health Organization said on Saturday.

Health Group official Sara Byfors told a news conference that the passenger had been lonely and that no other positive cases had been found so far.

The unidentified traveler lived in Sormland, south of Stockholm, according to Signe Makitalo, a regional infection control doctor. The new variable is thought to be more mobile than the others currently in circulation.

“The person positively tested for the virus traveled to Sormland from Britain to visit over Christmas,” said Makitalo, adding that the risk of further infection from the outbreak was considered very limited.

Sweden imposed travel restrictions earlier this month on British travelers amid concerns over diversification

Similar steps have been taken by several other countries in the European Union and around the world.
