Donovan Mitchell deals with James Wiseman’s Christmas Day performance

On Friday, No. 2 overall James Wiseman picked up another strong performance when the Golden State Warriors faced the Milwaukee Bucks in the second game on Christmas Day.

Wiseman scored 18 points, eight rebounds and three blocks in a 138-99 loss as the Warriors drop to 0-2 to start the season. His performance was one of several clear spots as the Warriors slid for much of the tournament, falling behind by as many as 43 points.

The 19-year-old finished as the Warriors ’second-highest scorer, just behind Stephen Curry with 19 points. Wiseman fired a 5-of-11 from the field, took a 3-of-4 from a 3-point field and showed off the tools in his bag, from his ability to run the floor to the moves in the post.

The performance even caught the attention of Utah Jazz defender Donovan Mitchell, who went into his assessment on Twitter at the time of the carpet.

Wiseman has made a good start with the Warriors this season, and has been watching it all as part of the second overall pick.

Perhaps most surprisingly, Wiseman has not shown much rust after starting training camp and missing the preseason. His game figures only further improve his playing and gaining fame for his new players on the court, something that could be daunting for the rest of the league.

Golden State returns to action on Sunday vs. the Chicago Bulls.
