They only have Mimi.
Not surprisingly, Mariah Carey fans are thrilled with her enduring holiday, “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which once again topped Billboard’s top 100 just last week. But now the 1994 single has set Spotify on the record for most one-day streams: a whopping 17.223 million, Carey to be announced on Christmas Day on Twitter.
“WOW,” she wrote, along with a series of emojis including hearts, Christmas trees and avalanches. “I know people think I make ‘dogs’ (secret lil: artists only do a little from streams) but the real reason I sit in the this with the surprise and gratitude of seeing the joy that this little song I wrote brings to people. ORAN DO CHRISTMAS MERRY !!! ”
The glam chanteuse, 50, marked the news as he retweeted a tweet from Chart Data, which tracks information from Billboard, Soundscan and other sources.
Carey’s Christmas queen had already kicked off her favorite month with a Christmas singing collaboration with Ariana Grande and Jennifer Hudson in “Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special” on Apple TV +. But she has embraced the holiday – and fulfilled it.
“I think it was that nostalgia for me as a child, that I always wanted things to be perfect for the holidays… And they never were,” she told Elle magazine o recently. “It was always someone spoiling the moment, always these abusive family members coming around and ruining everything.”
On the way to more joyeaux Noël, Mimi has had a lot to do – out of love and respect, of course – with fans who know she’s actually making some Christmas money from the song, which has reportedly been has attracted more than $ 2 million in Spotify realms alone.
That may make up for her disappointment with Carey’s Christmas decorations off-market fans.
