On Saturday, Wisconsin Democrat Gov. Tony Evers urged the federal government to send them more doses of the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine,
tweeting, “It is impossible for our state to receive only 35,100 doses of Pfizer next week – far less than expected after the initial doses dispensed earlier in the week.”
In Illinois, Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker said Wednesday that he expects the reduction in vaccine doses to “apparently cut our state ‘s projected Pfizer loads this month by about half.”
In Washington, Democratic Gov. Jay Inslee also raised concerns about the unexpected reduction in vaccines. On Thursday, e
tweet that the state ‘s vaccine distribution will be cut by 40% next week, and that “no explanation has been given.”
FDA Commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn has also addressed the vaccine prevention issue. In a
tweet Saturday, he explained, “the FDA does not require much release for the # COVID19 vaccine under EUA. The authority’s conditions require companies to submit inspection certificates for each mast at least 48 hours before the vaccine is released and can dispense without waiting for an FDA OK. ”
Slaoui told Tapper Sunday that he believes this error has now been addressed.
“We’re raising the level of communication with the regulators to make sure, you know, that mistakes and miscommunications don’t happen,” he said.
