Brooklyn will use the Landry Shamet option for 2021-22

Similar to what they did with Taurean Prince before the 2019-20 NBA season, the Brooklyn Nets have decided on Landry Shamet ‘s future with the franchise before the Guard has played in one regular season tournament. The Nets announced Monday that they have selected the fourth-year team option on guard contract for the 2021-22 NBA season.

Brooklyn is the third NBA place Shamet has called home, starting his career with the 76ers before being sent to the Los Angeles Clippers in the package delivered by Philly Tobias Harris. Shamet was then traded to the Nets on Draft Night this year as part of a three-team trade that also included the Detroit Pistons.

Shamet scored 13 points in 21 minutes as part of Brooklyn’s preseason win over the Washington Wizards, finishing 3-for-7 from the floor (3-for-5 from depth). In Brooklyn’s second preseason game, Shamet made just six points in 18 minutes on a 1-for-5 shot (1-for-3 from deep).
