The Ministry of Health on Sunday morning confirmed 1,866 new cases of coronavirus in 61,866 tests performed in the last 24 hours, resulting in 3.1% of tests coming back positive.
There are currently 447 coronavirus patients hospitalized nationwide in critical condition, including 110 patients on ventilators.

Since the outbreak of the pandemic in Israel, 3,074 patients have died as a result of the pathogen.
Also on Sunday, the so-called Coronavirus Cabinet, which will lead the government’s response to the pandemic, will come to consider tension restrictions as COVID-19 infections continue to rise across the country.
Ministers will consider measures to stop people entering from the UK, Australia and other countries where a new strain of coronavirus has been detected, including compulsory quarantine at designated hotels to prevent the spread of the pathogen.

The meeting comes a day after the Ministry of Health announced that all people entering Israel from abroad must self-segregate when entering Israel. starting Wednesday.
Travelers from countries that did not require solitary confinement will be released until the ministry’s message is released while they land in Israel before December 26th.
