WWE NXT: Kyle O’Reilly wins big, Rhea Ripley against Toni Storm

December 17 (UPI) – Kyle O’Reilly and Pete Dunne went head-to-head to find out who will win against WWE NXT Champion Finn Balor for his title.

O’Reilly had a very competitive game from The Undisputed Era and Dunne on Wednesday that had multiple turns and submissions.

O’Reilly was able to counter Dunne’s X-Plex attempt on the ring apron. He then made a Suplex that sent Dunne down to the floor of the ring.

O’Reilly threw Dunne back into the ring and went to the high rope, where he tied a knee strike to the back of Dunne’s neck to win the hard-fought battle.

Balor defends his NXT Tournament against O’Reilly on Jan’s edition. 6 of WWE NXT, titled New Year’s Evil. Balor and O’Reilly previously fought at NXT TakeOver 31 in October. Balor’s first contest left him injured with a broken hook.

Also on WWE NXT, Rhea Ripley challenged Toni Storm in the main event of the night.

Ripley fired Storm three consecutive blows, however, Storm was still able to escape Ripley’s attack at Ripley. Ripley’s rival Raquel Gonzalez entered the ring field and tried to help Storm.

Ripley Storm kicked into Gonzalez, who sent her over the ring guard. Gonzalez quickly recovered and picked up Ripley to insert it straight into the steel post of the ring.

Storm took advantage of the situation and tasted Ripley with the Storm Zero to build the effect. Gonzalez laughed and laughed about the outcome while Storm celebrated in the ring.

Karrion Kross, a NXT winner, who returned from injury last week, was on his first game since August, when he took on Desmond Troy.

Kross took control of the game and did a quick job at Troy. Kross won the game in solid fashion by delivering the Doomsday Saito before grabbing a Kross Jacket claim grip, which forced Troy to pull out.

Kross, who was with his partner Scarlett, looked into the camera after the tournament and challenged Damien Priest to a game at New Year’s Evil.
