There are a lot of wireless headphones out there, which means there is a lot of competition for your headphone dollars. In the latest from CNET round of the best headphones, David Carnoy collected a real test case of awesome headphones like the Sony WH-1000XM4, Apple AirPods Max and Bose Noise turning off 700 headsets. But while they are all worthy audio devices, they cost a small fortune also – as much as $ 550 for the AirPods Max. If you want solid audio quality at a much lower price, consider the JBL E55BT, currently priced at just $ 50.

The JBL E55BT Wireless Headphones have been around for a spell. Debating in 2017, they currently list for $ 150 but are booked down through March 28 (it was the best price I found on these headphones in places another $ 82 at Amazon). These headphones are attractively charged without drawing too much attention to themselves, and you get 20 hours of battery life and Bluetooth hard audio performance. In the book of David Carnoy review of the JBL E55BT he said they offer “a very lively sound, but [it] falling short of the richer, smoother sound you find with a lot of high-end Bluetooth headsets. ”His baseline assessment was that they provided solid sound and a comfortable fit for the price. Now that they’re selling for a third of the original price, that’s really great indeed.

What will you not get? Active sound, which was not a tablet in 2017 as it stands today, has been discontinued. But if you can live without that, here’s a solid pair of good headphones at a bargain base price.
