TikTok Superstars Charli And Dixie D’Amelio are officially getting their own Hulu show

Charli and Dixie D’Amelio are already megastars on TikTok. They will also have the opportunity to try and take over television.

The sisters will appear in Hulu’s new, eight-episode series to come in 2021. D’Amelio exhibition also featuring Heidi’s mom and dad Mark and giving us a glimpse into family life as the clan launches its new status in Hollywood. “Many people create ideas from us based on short content, a few minutes or even seconds,” Pope D’Amelio said in a statement. “But now, we look forward to sharing a side you can’t see on our social channels.”

Charli, 16, and Dixie, 19, have quickly risen to fame, quickly becoming two of the most famous celebrities in the world. They started posting on TikTok in 2019 and since then have gathered 130 million followers on the app. (With 100 million, Charli is the most watched TikTok star.) They are away from their native suburban Connecticut for Los Angeles, where Dixie is also pursuing a music career. The pair ranked, respectively, No. 2 and 3 on our list of high-earning TikTokers, having landed a deal dealing with Hollister clothing and Morphe cosmetics.

The next natural step is the expansion to TV. They expect the longer, more traditional form to strengthen their personalities and reputation. And, of course, it pays to be a much better TV personality than a digital one. TV stardom is offering more brand deals with higher pay – not to mention salaries per program.

The D’Amelios walk in the footsteps of another LA family known on both television and social media. It was, of course, the Kardashians, who took the road back, setting up images first on TV, then on social media. As it happens, the Kardashians have a new contract to do the Hulu show, too.
