The PUA Institute was shocked by the death of Dr. Avi Harlev, 50, director of the IVF unit at Barzilai Hospital, whose body was found lifeless in a forest near the Sansana settlement in the Mount Hebron Regional Council.

“We were privileged that last week alone he lectured at the PUA Institute’s annual conference for 7,000 rabbis, rabbis and professionals in Israel and around the world. .
Lt. Col. Dr. Avi Harlev, a resident of Sansana in the Mount Hebron Regional Council, was found lifeless in the Lahav forest near his home.
My father returned last night from a meeting in his reserve unit wearing a uniform. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the death in collaboration with the military police.
Late at night, the head of the Mount Hebron Regional Council, Yochai Damari, arrived with the rabbi of the settlement and the emergency teams to inform the Harlev family of the difficult news.
My father left behind his wife Shulamit – the sister of Col. Dror Weinberg the 14th, and they have five children – Ron, Moriah, Lavie, Maor and Hadar Shira, two grooms, two granddaughters, a couple of parents and a brother.
Avi Harlev is a specialist in gynecology and fertility, and runs the IVF unit at Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Harlev is involved in research and academia. To date, he has published more than 45 articles and has been involved in writing and editing medical books.

Alongside this, he contributed his talent in leading the community.

On the last day of remembrance, Harlev wrote on Channel 7 about his experiences from Lebanon and the responsibility of commanders for whom he studied under fire from Dror Weinberg.
