The Football Association has offered the UEFA to host some of the Euro games in Israel

The chairman of the Football Association, Oren Hasson, announced today (Sunday) at a meeting of the association’s management that last week he and CEO Ratam Kemar spoke with UEFA President Alex Safrin and senior members of the organization about the possibility of hosting some of the Euro 2020 games in Israel.

Hasson also offered to host the crucial stages of the Champions League and Europa League games, to the extent that the morbidity in Europe will not allow in May-June games in the presence of an audience.

The association said: “The UEFA president thanked the association for its willingness to help, expressed great appreciation for the way Israel is coping with the corona virus, as well as the immunization rate, and said that if there is no positive change on the continent in the coming months. The European in the big stadiums in Israel will definitely be taken into account.

“The parties are expected to continue to positively examine the feasibility of the Games in Israel. The proposal is supported by the Ministries of Health and Sports.”
