TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-02T, the most accessible Swiss Tourbillon now all Titanium

When TAG Heuer introduced the Heuer 02T circuit five years ago, it was a surprise. It was a sports watch, with chronograph and tachymeter function, but it was also a tourbillon. It was rated at chronometer level, and priced at less than $ 20,000. That made it the cheapest tour in Switzerland on the market – many are priced in the six figures – and it still is. The new version, all in grade 5 titanium, includes the bracelet, priced at $ 21,500.

Given that TAG Heuer has made a name as a maker of sports watches and as a timer of motor racing events, it’s no surprise that the new Carrera Heuer 02T is one of the most fun sports rides on the market. It is, in fact, a sports watch with a tourbillon, and was engineered for everyday performance: it is 100-meter water resistant, automatic winding, chronograph action, luminated indexes, feather light case and power reserve 65 hours. The movement, performed internally by TAG Heuer, is measured by a scale, which means it has an accuracy level of at least -4 / + 6 seconds per day. It is a flight circuit, which means there is no high bridge to block the view of the escape. Miniature weights on the balance wheel allow proper adjustment.

The original model also had a 45mm titanium case, but the rubber strap was black. There was also a special edition of Aston Martin with black titanium with PVD coating and a carbon case with rose gold accents and a carbon bezel. An all-black PVD coated titanium version came with a black rubber strap pressed with a race. And finally, there is an all black ceramic version in the line. The bezel has tachymeter blades.

The dial of the new model is cerulean blue, with bridges and bezel colored to match. The rubber protecting the crown and push buttons are also blue, as is the rotor, which can be seen through the sapphire caseback. The cage is made of ultra-light carbon and titanium. The TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer 02T is a limited edition 250 piece, priced at $ 21,500.
