Stephen Thomson believes he will win the UFC Welterweight Championship in 2021

Stephen Thomson has said he will win next year’s UFC Welterweight Championship in 2021. ‘Wonderboy’ is deciding over Vicente Luque he won in November 2019, and he expects to face Geoff Neal in the UFC Vegas 17 main event.

Confirming his role as one of the most progressive fighters on the UFC roster, Thompson has applied for a Welterweight belt twice in his career against Tyron Woodley. However, the 37-year-old failed to win the title every time.

Thompson thinks he will finally be at the top of the welterweight division next year.

Stephen Thomson says he is two wins off of a title draw

Speaking to Schmo, ahead of his fight against Geoff Neal, Stephen Thompson said he is not giving up the title, and will be a UFC Welterweight champion in 2021.

“We all know Geoff Neal is a big and big welterweight. A good win for him, (and) they put me up against someone in the top 5 next thing. So, no To give up the title, in 2021, I’m gonna be a champion, “Thompson said.

Thompson also said winning against top five contestants after his affair with Geoff Neal should be good enough for him to get back into the title picture again.

Stephen Thomson started fighting Geoff Neal at UFC Vegas 17

Stephen Thomson will put a foot inside the octagon after more than a year against Geoff Neal in the UFC Vegas 17 main event.

He later called Leon Edwards to fight. However, the British fighter went against Khamzat Chimaev and this eventually established a Thompson bout with Neal. Wonderboy has consistently maintained his position in the top 5 of the Welterweight division divisions and would certainly hope to record a victory against his 11th listed opponent.

However, Neal will not be an easy opponent for Wonderboy, as he is unbeaten in the UFC and comes off with spotless performances against tough opponents like Niko Price and Mike Perry. ‘Handz of steel’ has a seven-fight win streak and could give Thompson a rough night in the office.
