Samsung is developing a “Fan Edition” for the Galaxy S21 series, following the relative success of the 2020 S20 FE model. The model has been given the internal code name SM-G990B, and is expected to hit stores in the second half of the current year.
SamMobile reports that Samsung is keeping the recipe: the company will select the main and important features of the Galaxy S21 and S21 Plus models, and will offer their combination at a more affordable price. The exact specifications have not yet been determined, but it is already known that the device will come with the Android 11 operating system, connection to fifth-generation networks, and a memory capacity for 128 or 256 GB file storage. It will be offered for sale in gray, purple, pink and white.
The rest of the details, such as the screen size and the chipset, have not yet been determined and it is likely that Samsung will make a final decision on this matter within the next few months. Another detail that the company is discussing is whether to include in the device the option to expand the memory using microSD cards, or whether to sell the S21 FE without the option to expand the storage space beyond the amount originally purchased.
