The right-wing party pledges to prevent fifth elections if it is forced to decide between them and a cabinet meeting headed by Benjamin Netanyahu.
Here’s political correspondent Here News, Zeev Kam, published this morning that senior right-wing officials said in closed conversations, “If we have to choose between a fifth election and joining the Netanyahu government, we will choose the Netanyahu government option.”
The right-wing party responded: “Only the right, led by Bennett, will replace Netanyahu, maintain the rule of the right and rescue Israel from the mud.”
Recall that last week Bennett made it clear that he was in no way sitting in a government led by a left-wing party.
“What I see in all the polls and also from the conduct of the last two years is that Netanyahu is unable to form and hold a stable government, so it is time to replace him and that will only happen from the right,” Bennett said in an interview here.
He said, “The right will not sit in a government led by the left, including Lapid as prime minister. Lapid can say he is anything, but in the end we will not sit in a government led by the left. We have no problem with Lapid participating in the government, but the question at the ballot box is between Netanyahu and me.”
“Netanyahu can only be replaced on the right because the vast majority of the people are on the right and it does not make sense to have a prime minister from the left. That is why I tell Lapid and others: that the only way to replace Netanyahu is to vote for us. We are not in any block. The national camp, “Bennett added.
He was asked if the Religious Zionist Party could sit in the Chikim government and replied that Bezalel Smutrich and Itamar Ben Gvir are possible partners. “Everyone who is in favor of a Jewish and democratic state will sit with him – we are against boycotts,” Bennett said.
Asked whether he would sit, if not in a government train position, in a coalition led by Gideon Saar, Bennett replied, “I am ready to sit in any national government. The goal is to replace Netanyahu and today it is more vital than ever.”
