Qualcomm Inc. CEO Steve Mollenkopf said he expects global chip shortages to be easy for certain products using mature technology.

The shortage may improve for products using “mature nodes, but for advanced nodes, the recovery is more complex,” Qualcomm’s CEO told the China Development Forum in Beijing on Saturday. Speaking through an online video link, Mollenkopf said he sees a “confident future” in the US-China digital sector.

“The potential is endless as US and Chinese companies partner to achieve commercial success driven by innovation,” he said.

Micron Technology Inc. CEO Sanjay Mehrotra said speaking via video link that his company will accelerate its technology shift to reduce the shortage of memory chips. He said Micron aims to align supply growth with demand growth.

China can continue to be a world leader in digital transformation, Mehrotra said.
