Rampant Momen in Round Two

Tarek Momen, World Champion, got his job CIB The Open Black Squash Open campaign began with a confident 12-10, 11-8, 11-5 victory over Eain Yow Ng in Malaysia.

Defending Champion Dessouky kicks off title defense

Defending CIB Fares Dessouky, Black Open Ball champion, ensured his event got off to a perfect start with an 11-9, 11-2, 11-6 win over India’s No.56 Ramit Tandon World No.56.

Tandon got the shock of the day in round one after catching Greg Lobban in the Scottish World but after the first good game he was unable to put that back as Dessouky showed why which in his best form moved into the last 16 where he will face Omar Mosaad.

“I feel I have to play better than the first round in the last tournament,” Dessouky told SquashTV.

“I was always down and then I won in three, but today I was always the one who controlled most of the game so that was the good thing. Today, the back side didn’t work well but I’m glad it eventually started to get a little sharp, I’m going to work on that 100%.

“The last time I came here I was hungry to be honest, but I wasn’t looking at reaching a final. This time I am more hungry, I have trained well and pushed hard over the last three months, now I feel more ready than last time and fresher.

“I have to remember that I’m World No.8 and not World No.1 yet, so the pressure is on the other boys, not me yet, so I’m going to enjoy that. . I hope to play well in the next round and get through. ”
