NJ’s Frankie Jonas, aka the ‘Bonus Jonas’ brother, takes TikTok by storm

The Jonas Brothers usually means Nick, Kevin and Joe.

But the three musicians have a brother or sister, who grew up in Wyckoff.

It may not be in the group, but don’t forget – there is a “Jonas Bonus. ”

Frankie Jonas, 20, who was born in Ridgewood, is Jonas’ younger brother, and is currently winning at TikTok.

Nick Jonas, 28, Joe Jonas, 31, and Kevin Jonas, 33, have been in the spotlight since they were children as members of the Jonas Brothers. After hiatus for six years (musically, not as brothers), they reunited for the top of the charts in 2019.

Frankie, who will be attending Columbia University next semester, has been working on scenes on TikTok from “Married to Jonas,” his brother Kevin’s reality show running from 2012 to 2013 on E !.

The show featured Kevin’s relationship with his wife, Danielle Deleasa, and their home life in New Jersey. Frankie also appeared on the show.

One poignant moment came around the use of paper napkins at dinner time.

In a recent clip of 1.8 million views, Frankie plays recordings from the documentary series and hits the lines, to great acclaim on social media.

Frankie says he moved to New York City just before quarantine and doesn’t know many people there – yet. If he doesn’t count the many respects he has on social media (he posted an open call for friends). That group seems to have been growing for a long time. Just two days ago, it celebrated half a million TikTok followers.

“It’s very interesting,” he said. “Very fun, very cool. If you could speed it up, though, that’s why I’m trying to get one hundred million by the end of the year. ”

When he was younger, Frankie became a character in the 2009 Hayao Miyazaki film “Ponyo. He also appeared in the show “Jonas” on the Disney channel and with his brothers in the film “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam.”

Now, it looks like he’s becoming more aware of the success of social media. In another clip, Frankie sweeps in front of recorded evidence of people flooding his brothers’ comments with reference to him.

Here, Frankie celebrates his return to school with balloons featuring Columbia.

His sister-in-law, Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner, who is married to Joe Jonas, congratulated Instagram.

“YESSSSS FRANKKKK!” she replied.

His TikToks, innocently, started this fall with entries like this one, which drew 1.7 million views.

Here, he wants to evaluate what he is doing (or not) like his brothers.

In this one, which has 4.4 million views, it deals with the 2016 arrest for marijuana possession … set to the music from the Home Depot ads, naturally.

Then there was that time he chose to pay homage to the matriarch of Jonas’ family, his mother.

“I see y’all out here being picked up by Karens, but who’s out here with Denise,” he said, dancing around like pictures of Denise Jonas showering on the screen.

What about self-conscious Jonas?

In this episode (2.7 million views), Frankie answers a snippet of “99% of people who don’t” – “have famous brothers and get on with nepotism for the rest of your life. ”

Wherever Frankie takes this, the “Bonus Jonas” seems to be shifting some focus away from his brothers.
