Mesut Ozil could leave millions to rush away from Arsenal, report says

The 32-year-old has been missing throughout the season because Mikel Arteta believes it is beyond requirements.

It is clear that Mesut Ozil ‘s time is over at Arsenal.

However, Ozil is still an expensive item on the Gunners ‘balance sheet as he has secured a contract through the end of the season despite not being in Mikel Arteta’ s plans. Former Arsenal manager Unai Emery followed in the footsteps of Ozil to the private boxers after a short time when the midfielder – of course – was rumored for his own career.

The test did not go well for Ozil: the 32-year-old was not booked by the club for the first half of the Premier League and Europa League campaigns, making it illegal to play for months finally.

Ozil has not stepped on the field for the Gunners since March 7, 2020, but is still accumulating a £ 350,000 a week deal that the club is willing to shed.

With Arsenal’s fate largely decided, it is reported that Ozil has softened his stance on staying at the Emirates Stadium throughout the duration of his contract. According to a report by the Athletic, Ozil would be willing to waive some of his remaining salary to join another club through the normal transfer window.

The German would earn another £ 7 million if he stayed at Arsenal for the remainder of his contract, so a retirement salary could cost Ozil millions. While he would not be expected to give up his pay packet in full, it is likely that he will take a large sum to accelerate his transfer to another club.

Fenerbahce and MLS club DC United have been linked with the player ‘s signature, although Ozil would not be willing to join the Turkish side if he leaves Arsenal this month.
