Megan Olivi has used many different night fighting techniques for her husband Joseph Benavidez. When he competes at UFC 259 on Saturday, she is ready for the broadcast to work.
Longtime UFC reporter and reporter Olivi is married to UFC flyweight competitor Benavidez (28-7 MMA, 15-5 UFC), who is set to meet Askar Askarov (12-0-1 MMA, 2- 0-1 UFC) in the previews of the card at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas. His fight fights on ESPN before the main card on ESPN + pay-per-view.
Olivi will be the mobile reporter for UFC 259, which means she appears on the broadcast providing real-time updates, post-fight interviews and more. She’ll be hard at work when Benavidez steps into the octagon, and she said she thinks that’s the best position for her.
“I work pay-per-view and fight pay-per-view ideas, so we both work,” Olivi told reporters, including MMA Junkie, on Friday. “I think a lot of people don’t like me. Women and other stuff, they’re like, ‘How do you do that?’ But it really does hold me. I like to work when Joe fights because I have something else to focus on. I’m actually more relaxed for this fight than I would have been if I hadn’t (worked) and that’s all I had to think about. But I do scripts and fight prep and check and watch all the different fights that it helps me handle the whole process. It won’t be easier for me (if I don’t work) – it will be a lot harder. Every fight gives me more stress and crazier feelings, so it attracts a lot of attention. ”
But Olivi does not pretend that the situation is easy to handle. She saw Benavidez experience some glorious heights and heartbreak during his career. She will do her job as a professional photographer, but deeply admits it is a difficult situation.
“He’s your favorite person in the world, you’ve been watching sacrifice for months and doing everything this 15- or 25-minute time can go on. and you can do nothing to help you, ”said Olivi. “It’s the most unhelpful feeling ever, and Joe is my favorite person in the world. He is the most important thing in my life, and having no control over the outcome and knowing how hard he worked and the sacrifices that were made, he is emotionally the hardest thing I had to do as a wife, and in life one of the hardest things I had to do. ”
