Juan Franciso Estrada got his revenge on Roman Gonzalez with the effect of a split decision to merge WBC and WBA pre-flyweight titles in Dallas.
Mexico shared another exciting fight with Gonzalez, winning with generous scores of 117-111 and 115-113, and the third judge got it 115-113 to Nicaraguan to make calls for a third fight. .
Estrada, who were hit by a unanimous decision in their first fight in 2012, felt it put Gonzalez out on the scorecards.

“I think I did enough to win,” Estrada said DAZN.
“I knew it was a close fight. I didn’t know if I was up or down, but I had to shut out the fight in the last two rounds.”
After a tight opening, Estrada fired out his right hand, forcing Gonzalez to return to the ropes in the second round.
Fighting at frenetic pace, Estrada put out a quick mix in the fourth round, while a jolting uppercut stopped Gonzalez in his tracks in the sixth.

But Estrada was taken off balance in the ninth during a late rally from Gonzalez, which came in a pound harder at close quarters in the 10th.
The two men stood and traded at an interesting 11th, although Gonzalez ended strongly by injuring Estrada with a right hand in the final minute.
