Health Organization: “Herd vaccination – will not be this year”

The World Health Organization estimates that the entire world will not be vaccinated against corona by 2021, not even a herd vaccine – which they say requires about 70 percent vaccinated among the population.

The World Health Organization’s chief scientist, Dr. Somia Swaminatan, spoke last night (Monday) at a press conference in which she estimated that even if there are certain countries with a herd vaccine – due to a high number of recovering and vaccinated, it will probably not happen in 2021 worldwide.

According to a report by the AP news agency, the organization’s estimates speak of about 70% vaccinated in the population – using antibodies or corona vaccines – so that there will be herd immunity among the population, and such estimates deny this this year.

Therefore, according to Dr. Swaminatan, even in 2021 countries will have to take measures to fight the virus: masks, social alienation and hygiene.

“Even now, when vaccines begin to protect vulnerable populations, we are not going to achieve any levels of population immunity or herd immunity in 2021,” Swamintan said. “Even if it does happen in some countries, it will not protect people around the world,” she warned.
