Hair loss treatment: Changing your diet may make your hair grow

The American Society of Dermatology (AAD) has noted that low levels of biotin, iron, protein or zinc may contribute to hair loss. What foods are rich in these ingredients? “If you don’t get enough of one or more of these, you can have noticeable hair loss,” the AAD said.

“Most people should be able to get all the iron they need by eating a mixed and balanced diet,” the NHS said.

Consumption of iron products can lead to undesirable side effects, such as:

  • Constipation
  • Feeling sick
  • Being sick
  • Stomach pain

“Very high doses of iron [supplements] be fatal, especially if taken by children, “he warned the national health body.

Symptoms of iron deficiency appear as anemia, which can lead to the following symptoms:

  • Fatigue and lack of energy
  • Shortness of breath
  • Heart palpitations
  • Pale skin

This is because some high-protein foods can be high in saturated fat, which increases your risk for cardiovascular disease.

Sinc

You can get zinc in oysters, which is the best source of nutrients, the NIH said.

Other good sources of zinc include: crab, lobster, red meat and poultry.

“Zinc is present in almost all multivitamin / mineral diet products,” the NIH said.

Those at risk of zinc deficiency include vegetarians, those who have undergone gastrointestinal surgery or weight loss, or those with Crohn’s disease.
