Great 4 Lyon on Nice

The 16th round of the French league opened tonight (Saturday) with three games. Marseille finished only 1-1 with Reeds by Predrag Rejkovic, Metz defeated Lance 0-2, and Lyon defeated Nice 1-4.

Nice – Lyon 4: 1
Rudy Garcia’s team climbed to the top after an impressive display on the Riviera. The visitors have not lost in the last 13 rounds and have overtaken Lille (on point) and Paris Saint-Germain (on two) who are missing a game.

Memphis Depay put Lyon ahead with a successful penalty in the 32nd minute, before Tino Cadwara doubled the lead (39). Amin Gwiri further narrowed the lead before the half (44), but the visitors scored twice more in the second half. Carl Toko Akambi (63) and Blocker Awar (73) completed the job.

Marseille – Reims 1: 1
Andre Villas-Boas’ side put together two unbeaten games, and missed an opportunity to equal third-placed Paris Saint-Germain. Japanese Yoto Nagatomo scored himself to give the visitors the lead in the 20th minute, but just before the break, Dario Benedetto cooked for Florian Tuban, who subdued Predrag Rejkovic on the way to a 1-1 draw, eventually forcing a point split as well.

Metz – Lance 0: 2
For the second time this season, Metz managed to put together two wins and climbed, at least temporarily, to ninth place in the table, one point less below seventh lance. Ufa Angett scored the first in the 30th minute, and four minutes into extra time, Farid Boulaia sealed the game.
