GoPro Labs is adding more experimental features to its cameras

In May, GoPro came out with GoPro Labs, a sandbox that allowed the most avid users to tinker with experimental and in-development features. The only advantage was that you could only try out if you had a Hero8 Black, then the famous GoPro model. That is changing. Today, the company is expanding support for GoPro Labs to include the recently released Hero9 Black and its older Hero7 Black and Max models.

Better yet, today’s update comes with seven new features for owners of these action cameras to explore. Most fall into the “why didn’t they think of adding these earlier? ”Category of highly experimental additions. But that’s okay because they’ll be more motivated for GoPro users to try them out as a result. One of the more nifty add-ons is a feature that your GoPro sensors use to start and stop image capture as it detects motion. That way, you can forget about managing a GoPro battery and memory card because the camera will take care of that for you.
