Embrace Sustainable Colorful Beauty courtesy of talented Mars fans

One month on, we’re all still excited about the perfect arrival of the Perseverance rover in Jezero Crater on Mars, back on February 18, 2021.

Over the past few weeks, NASA has released more stunning images and images of the entrance, and since then, the worldwide array of citizen scientists and scientists -enthusiastic image editing has been put into action to enhance and enhance the stunning views captured by Perseverance a collection of high-resolution cameras.

One of our favorites is this scene of Jezero Crater’s artistic color, showing the bird’s eye view of Perseverance screaming towards the surface of Mars.

The image above was developed by Kevin Gill in full color, capturing images captured by the Perseverance Lander System Camera just after the heat shield was released. You can see the heat shield drop towards the surface on the lower left of the image.

“This includes about ten images taken by LCAM to give a broader view than my previous attempt,” Kevin said on Twitter. You can see the full image on Kevin’s Flickr page.

Kevin’s “previous effort” has stated emphatically:

On the video side, one of the best images we’ve seen of Perseverance’s descendants comes from Mathew Earl, who re-evaluated the stunning surface-mounted video at the top of images from Mars Express Orbiter at ESA.

This shows the full context of the rover’s arrival, along with scale to provide information on how large the features are on the ground.

“One thing I found amazing was the appearance of Martian land,” Matthew Earl wrote on his website. “As the lawyer comes down to earth, it’s hard to sense scale, as there is no familiar information framework to tell us how far away the land is.” This is what got him started on this project, and he explains the process in detail on his website.

Raziel Abulafia turned on Twitter his colorful version – along with appropriate music – of the heat shield film, where you see the heat shield fall and fall, with a puff of dust like Wylie Coyote when it hits the ground.

These are just a few examples of the work done by the “amateurs” out there who do an amazing job.

With all the stunning images that the Perseverance rover is releasing, we look forward to more amazing work with the enthusiasts for image editing around the world.
