Deputy Attorney General Dina Zilber today (Thursday) turned to Yaakov Quint, director of the Government Companies Authority, and instructed him to obey the letter regarding the procedure for appointing directors in government companies and regarding the status of the board of directors.
Zilber wrote to Quint: “It will be clarified that the directive of the adviser specified in my letters to the Minister is that which reflects the legal legal situation, and you must act in accordance with it.”
The clashes between Zilber and Amsalem come against the background of Amsalem’s intention to abolish the ‘team of directors’ that was supposed to sever a politician’s political affiliation with his appointment, but in Amsalem’s position it is a discriminatory and unequal procedure.
As I recall, Zilber outlined to Amsalem the boundaries of the decree for the appointment of directors and informed him that: “The Attorney General’s position is that the principled position presented in the draft of my opinion (regarding the placement of directors – Lag) is final and binding.”
In response, Amsalem sent a letter to Quintet in which he attacked the conduct of Zilber and the ombudsman: Of has a future. “Unfortunately, they will do and do everything to interfere with my work, while violating the law rudely and blatantly.”
