CD co-founder Projekt Red apologizes for the plight ‘Cyberpunk 2077’

Iwiński went on to explain, from his point of view, how the game came to launch with so many bugs on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One that it was often inevitable. One week after the game’s release date, Sony completely withdrew it from the PlayStation Store and offered a refund to anyone who wanted one. Microsoft has also offered a refund to disgruntled Xbox players, and CD Projekt Red is facing lawsuit over claims that it misled investors and players.

In the video, Iwiński basically said that the team was too ambitious with the PC edition of the game, which was the basis for the token version and proved to be too tax-free for eighth-generation hardware. The in-game streaming system was a constant headache for the token team and developers missed a ton of glitches while testing its various versions, according to Iwiński.

Along with the apology video, CD Projekt Red released a written version of Iwiński’s statements as a series of Frequently Asked Questions, and also shared that the free next-gen console update will end in the second half of 2021.
