Cavani hit an FA misconduct allegation over a racially insensitive Instagram post as Man Utd considers a response

The Football Association has taken action against the experienced Uruguay opponent, but the current club insists his actions were not “malicious”.

Edinson Cavani has been accused of misconduct by the Football Association after posting an insensitive message on social media, with Manchester United knocking over their response.

“The last thing I wanted to do was offend anyone. I am totally against racism and dismissed the message as soon as it was explained that it can be interpreted differently.

“I would like to apologize for this.”

The FA, however, has taken action against Cavani, with the possibility that he could now be banned and / or fined, with a statement reading: “He has been charged on Edinson Cavani for misconduct for breach of FA E3 Rule, regarding social media role on Thursday 29 November 2020.

“It is alleged that, contrary to FA Rule E3.1, a comment posted on the Manchester United player’s Instagram page was offensive and / or abusive and / or inappropriate and / or offensive. reputation for the game.

“It is also argued that the idea includes an ‘Increased Breach’, which is set out in Rule FA E3.2, as it included a reference, however is it clear or intelligible, in terms of color and / or race and / or racial origin.

“The striker has until Monday 4 January 2021 to respond to the allegation.”

United maintain that Cavani’s message was not “maliciously intentional”, with Premier League outfits claiming that interactions between two friends have been “misused”.

As the Red Devils plead not guilty on behalf of their rival in South America, they are now going around their options when it comes to offering a response to the FA costs.

They posted on the official website : “Manchester United and all our players are fully committed to the fight against racism and we will continue to work with the FA – along with other governing bodies and organizations, and through our own campaigns – on sin.

“We note the FA’s decision today to sue Edinson Cavani for his response on social media for a friend’s congratulatory message, following the Southampton game.

Cavani has been fostering late injuries, with the expectation that Solskjaer will not take any fitness risks when the Red Devils sign up for a trip to Sheffield United on Thursday.
