Apple’s latest software update for its phones and tablets is minimal, but nonetheless it’s probably one you should install immediately.
iOS 14.4.1 and iPadOS 14.4.1 serve one purpose, but it ‘s an important reason: fixing a bug in WebKit, Safari’ s offering engine, may have brought it forward, while processing malicious content, to execute malicious code.
That’s the last thing one would want, which is why it’s important to update to this version as soon as possible. The seriousness of the problem is that there was a memory corruption issue in WebKit that could have been spread, but now this gap is closed.
The download should already be available with the iPhones and iPads supported through Options> General> Software Update. You can go there to catch it, if you haven’t received an update message at some point in the next few hours.
