Last summer, at the initiative of the Ministry of Finance, and with the aim of raising employment rates, the government decided to allocate billions of shekels to encourage employers to return workers who were laid off in the face of the Corona crisis and / or hire new workers.

The Employment Service established a dedicated center that led to the realization of NIS 1.6 billion paid as grants to 57,415 employers for 434,474 employees, some of whom were resettled and some new workers hired by the employers.

In her work last week, the Employment Service’s control department identified a fraudulent operation in which an Israeli company illegally received NIS 1.4 million for workers who were allegedly returned to work from a health service or for those hired as new workers. In view of the current investigation, the details of the affair, including the company name and the circumstances of the fraud, will not be published at this time.
