Amad Diallo: Winger will receive a passport before moving to Manchester United from Atalanta | Football News

Aadlanta Amad Diallo was given a passport before transferring £ 37.2m to Manchester United, according to Sky in Italy.

United are hoping the Ivorian will be given a UK work permit to allow him to travel to Manchester next month.

The Premier League club confirmed they had agreed a contract for the 18-year-old on the October transfer deadline day, shortly after Diallo’s proposed move to Parma collapsed.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer moved for the winger after their long attempt at England international Jadon Sancho Borussia Dortmund failed.

Diallo moved to the Atalanta academy in 2015 and received his first debut in October last year in the 7-1 win over Udinese.

The youngster found the net after coming off the bench in that game and in doing so became the first player born in 2002 to score in Serie A.

Diallo has made four appearances in Serie A, and last season scored seven goals and recorded 11 assists in 24 appearances for the youth team.

In the 2018/19 campaign, Diallo scored 18 goals and delivered 13 assists and his impressive performances paved the way for him to start training with Atalanta’s top squad.

Who is Amad Diallo?

Diallo, 18, was born on the Ivory coast, before moving to Italy around the age of 10, and immigrated to Atalanta in 2015.

The youngster played his debut for Atalanta last season, becoming the youngest player – at 17 years and 109 days old – to score his first Serie A debut in their 7-1 defeat to Udinese.

As a result, the Ivorian traveled with the Atalanta squad to Lisbon for the fourth semi-final of the Champions League to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

However, Diallo has appeared in just three league games for Atalanta, including just 30 minutes of football, while he has also been an unused substitute for the Italians to so far this season.

The player, however, has made a huge impact on his training, so much so that Papu Gomez recently enjoyed Lionel Messi.

“There are defenders in the first team who can’t stop him sometimes. To stop him from training, we have to kick him! He plays like Messi,” the Atalanta captain said.
